USDA REAP — Rural Energy for America

Administered by U.S. Dept of Agriculture · rd.usda.gov

Grants and loan guarantees for agricultural producers and rural small businesses to install renewable energy systems and make energy efficiency improvements.

Eligibility requirements

  • Agricultural producer or rural small business
  • Rural area
  • Project must be technically feasible
Insider tip

Applications are competitive but rural small businesses are often underrepresented. A solar installation for a farm can easily qualify for a $15,000–$40,000 grant covering half the cost.
